About the Artist
Bhavya Dixit is a self-taught fine artist based in Montreal, Canada. Originally from India, she creates intricate images in a 2500-year-old, Indian art form known as Madhubani. It's about expressing relationships with nature. 2d image filled with flowers, animals, birds & geometric patterns. Depicting scenes to celebrate the essence of her grandfather's spirit. Traditionally done through brushes, twigs & fingers, she innovated the process by utilizing 3d printed shapes for layout and framework.

Artist Statement
"What drives me to perform painting is the stillness I extract from the art form Madhubani. Repeating intricate patterns demanding to be extremely focused on the movement of each stroke. In that hour of the day when my hands are frozen and my mind reaches the pinnacle of self-talking. Taking me to a state where silence and emptiness create extreme expansion and awareness of each moment."
